Hi Segona
Welcome to the club.
Hi segona glad you stopped by over here man good to see ya.
Welcome Segona!
thank you for all your greetings ^^
Hi there!
I live in NE Texas. Mostly I learn from you guys. Though I am not an expert, I enjoy mild off-roading every now and then at www.barnwellmountainra.com
I bought in 08 a 20kmi used 2006 Commander QT-1, my first Jeep. It had to be it due to budget, but I am still wondering if I could have someone help me to add low range to it through a modification. After all, 3.7L, 6 cyl. is the same engine Liberty has, and they have low range same as the Cherokee sport and older Cherokee models do.
My first mods are: Rear grab handles, a 2in liftkit (daystar), 1.5in Spidertrax wheel spacers and a set of 265/70R17 HOWLER M/T (E) from www.treadwright.com; it's been 2 years with them and they are really tough and NO problems with the tread. The only problem is on pavement, when speeding between 55 and 65 the truck wiggles but once it hits 70mi/hr the shaking ceases, but the noise of the tires is permanent. Next fall when they are gone I will try the Guard Dog tires.
This weekend I did the bumper trimming thanks to Sal's posting, I will also add the front tow hooks. Once I finish all will post the pics in the right place.
I also bought the OEM front skid plate and transfer case, but unfortunately there was a bolt w/o head and couldn't remove it today, and in order to install the the transfer case plate, I need to install the fuel tank plate first ($216+labor+tax) so I will wait on that.
In the future, rear hitch kit.
Here is a pic from 2009 right after installing the tires, spacers and lift.

Welcome, there is a discussion about transfer case swaps somewhere around here or in a different site.....I'll try to find it for you.
Welcome aboard can't wait to see your pics.
Welcome to the XK Cult! There's guys with lots of great ideas on here..
Hey man welcome aboard!
FYI the fuel tank skid is only $180 here: http://jparts.com/product_info.php?c...g1ve60snt391h0
Not hard to install... Sal and I both have threads in the "how to" section. They're worth checking out... some basic tools and you're good to go
Nice XK welcome to the forum.
Thanks for this idea! I recently purchased my front suspension and transfer case OEM plates. The front one had to be postponed since there is a headless bolt I need to get out (BTW, when I was trimming the bumper, I tried it and lost the extracting bit :S ) Then I was about to instal the transfer case plate, but it needs the gas tank plate in order to "hang it" from the tab with 2 holes... I didn't buy the plate for that because of budget an installation labor...
Smells new in here, Love the new forum smell. Fresh paint, excellent crown molding, carpets not even dirty yet, and nice wood finish - very nice!
Anyway - I own and wheel a modestly modified WK - the inside is done, for now, with Pionner touch screen nav, blue tooth and Ipod sync, aftermarket sunroof, leather, heated seats, power everything, and replaced the carpet rugs with mopar rubber. I started working on the exterior last year. It's a 3.7L WK with 3" OME lift, and 255/75/17's GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armors, pinchweld, and fender mods have been done, Load Warrior cargo basket with spare thrown up top, some aftermarket headlights which i'm pulling out and putting back in the stocks when I get some free time. At one point I had 3 sets of lights on the Jeep, a westin chrome bull guard with a set of lights the entire I think I removed to increase approach angle. set of KC Hilites on top bolted to the cargobasket which I still have, and reverse lights which get banked up all the time (they currently act as my sliders lol, and I will be relocating these up top on the cargo basket as well). Back when I installed the reverse lights, I was pulling my friends Jet Ski's around a lot, and I lived out in the farm where it was pitch dark - So i needed them.) Now they are just in the way and I hit'm once in a while. My WK mods have slowed down a lot because I've been putting more emphasis on my XJ. But the future of my WK will probably see CAI, and some skids, and probably upgrade to some of those sexy bighorn tires that Sal's been wielding.

Welcome AJ, glad to have you here. (a bit late on the response, but at least I'm not alone....lol..)
I realized I haven't posted in here yet. I own a 2008 3.7 XK and have been on "the other" board for a short while. Its great to have a second place to come to with questions.
I hope we're the "first" place you come to with questions. :)
Lol, give me a few hours to get home and get a few beers in me... then MAYBE ill better comprehend and respond to that one!
the others are coming for us.
That's funny 'cause a lot of you here are the same people on the other board I was referring to!!:D
We are a figment of your imagination.
AJ your over the top lol
Hey all,
I have been lurking on here for a while and figured it was time to do the intro thread thing. I have an '06 Commander that I bought about a year ago. Finally got around to picking up a Rocky Road 2.25 lift, ordered spacers last night, and picked up a set up 255/70 r17 BFG MT KM2 on JK wheels to give this beast a little more clearance and a better look. I'm 6'1 and I constantly hit my head on the tailgate. I told the wife that I needed to lift the Jeep to avoid a concussion:o
Great forum, looking forward to contributing and learning!

Been 20 years since I went crawlin' in my old '79 Ford Bronco. Been stuck in cars ever since, and ALMOST bought another Grand Marquis... until I saw THIS at the dealership. One test drive, and I was hooked. Just wish I'd known about the Hemi-Commander at my local dealership down the road. I'd of bought it, instead.
But here we are, and I'm learning as much as I can about Jeeps, these new full-time 4WD units, new axles, transfer cases, axles, and the like. 4x4's have come a l-o-o-o-o-o-n-g way since my old Bronco Ranger XLT!!! Here's hoping I can keep up!
Welcome to the club War Wagon!
