Lets see.... todays list:
4xG diff guard
Rancho 9000XL rear shocks
Matts custom 1/2" rear spacers
Pinch weld mod
Hidden sticker mod
And fixed (temporarily anyways) brake squeak
I'd call that a successful day!

Actually, i'd say the most successful thing we did today was teach Corey how to use some tools!

Do you have to take rear diff cover completely off and apply new RTV when doing the rear diff guard?
As long as the diff was sealed with RTV, nope, the bond is not broken. If the diff is sealed with a gasket then yeah, it'll come off so you'll need to re-seal and refill.
Ok thats what I thought. Im loking to install that nice Jeep branded diff cover that Andrew found. He said they make them in a ten bolt. Along with the powertrax no slip that is!
That is a sweet cover... rearlly like having a drain plug too (comes in handy for those wheeling trips where you're going in deep water with that snorkel of yours.... get some fresh fluid in case of water contamination)
Since Corey's out appeasing his fiance since he spent all day at my house today working on the jeep, drinking fruity beer and listening to taylor swift.... i'll do the honors of getting his pics up :p

That XK is coming along real nice!
I can't believe how much he's done In ~2 months. The force is strong with this one! Lol
He better slow down or he'll blink and miss his build :)
Or be broke and not be able to make it to RC in october!
LOL oh I'll be there
Yeah it was awesome spending the day with Matt (and Kevin) learned a lot like usual and its always a good time. I don't see it slowing down any as all the skids are being ordered in the next 2-3 weeks ;p
September's List:
Transfer Case Skid
Gas Tank Skid
Suspension Skid
4x Belly Guard
Plasti-Dip all 4 wheels and maybe gas cap!
who knows what else....
That wasn't a hoagie!! You need at least one topping to make it a hoagie. Cold cuts & bread, dry, is like a prison dinner. Is there something you're not telling us about your past?
4x Belly shortly :P
getting your jeep off road ready is always a priority! Then you add stuff that makes it easier and more comfortable for being off road. I'm slowly getting mine overland ready and someday hope to spend weeks off road with only my jeep to sustain me.
Yeah when I first purchased the XK I had no intentions off offroading (hence my "Worth the lift" thread on jc.com) but obviously after wheeling for the first time my mind set has done a complete 360. I would be totally lost without such good people to converse and learn from...especially Matt. He has pretty much influenced a lot of my purchases of which all were smart decisions. Now that I will soon have full armor I will feel 100x better on the trails, and now that the armor is 80% complete I can focus on some fun stuff as you mentioned ;p
Ya we've come a long way since I bought mine. There were a few wheelers but nowhere near this amount of dedicated people doing it and not many doing this much either. Of course Jon and Adam already had nice rigs when I showed up.
I've been through a lot of offroad vehicles and a lot of forums.... and I gotta say, we have a damn good group here. Corey, you're lucky this is your first experience! lol
Ya were a pretty unstable group!
I think our dysfunction is what makes us so powerful.... hell we took poor innocent Corey who had NO intention of lifting/offroading and made him pull a complete 180; that's saying something!
Yeah I guess I lucked out and this will give me prep. for my future offroading :P because one day it will be something other then our XK's (hopefully not for a long time :P)
So the Gas Tank and Transfer Case Skid are shipped, and I intend to grab the 4x Belly Guard next paycheck. I decided I will wait on the suspension skid to see which front guard I go with as I think Jon's replaces the susp. skid as well?
Yeah I just looked at SA's website and it looks like Jon's front skid covers the regions of the OEM suspension skid and the 4xG front guard. Would love to see some installed pics to get an idea of the coverage.
Yeah me too
That things going to be big!!!
Your XK is coming along nicely bro!

Im probably going to eventually do the 4xguard as I already have the front suspension skid so makes no sense to go SA
