Black.... booooring....
Lol
Can't wait for rausch again dude
When I installed mine and ran my jeep for awhile, I noticed a very loud rattling that turned out to be the pipe from the catalytic converter banging up against the belly guard when air would pass through it. Does anyone have any insight on this?
I thought mine were laying on the skid but ended up working out to an inch or so of space.. You may want to look at the hangers that are welded to exhaust, it shouldnt move very much at all
Mine fit fine. Have had it over 2 years now no issues!
Im glad mine works cause it was a PITA without jacking it up.. My jack isnt at my place so I would have been pissed!!!
On a brighter note getting the XK cleaned up before it gets to dark!!
Don't spend to much time cleaning it. We're going to whispering pines soon
Hey, I know you mentioned wanting to take your rock guards off too. I just removed the rivets underneath it and then basically ripped it off because you can't reuse it anyway :P but I'm sure Adam knows since he did his as well
Still plan to do this?
Just a recommendation for both you guys..... you can split a set of JBA front disconnects. :)
NEVERMIND
I remember our conversation. The XK's only need (1) to give more articulation. AM I RIGHT.
They let each side of the suspension work independently from each other. So you can have one tire fully stuffed and the other tire fully extended. Although we don't have much articulation to begin with so it really wont help much on the deeply rutted stuff, it'll help when you're in those rocky trail sections to keep the body more level and controllable.
Id be interested in them although Id want both sides
Why would you only want to disconnect one side? That doesn't make sense to me.
I am only an apprentice with pink skids guys so I will let Matt explain. He explained to me a few weeks ago at his house why you only really need 1. I could of misunderstood but I am sure he will chime in. I know he is splitting a pair as well.
thats what I was wondering, even if you do need both I would want both
For the front suspension on these vehicles, once you disconnect one side then both sides have unrestricted free range of motion (unlike the rear where the sway bar link will limit travel if you don't disconnect both sides).
You can disconnect both, but it doesn't gain you anything on the front. If you disconnect both you'll also have to bring something to tie the bar up with. If you leave one side connected you don't have to do anything else (and it wont interfere with anything on the disconnected side).
I think omelet posted some pictures with his one side disconnected.... will see if I can dig them up. If not I'll pop one of mine off and find something to flex out on
FYI, I had those disconnects on mine but now I only have 1 connected. I've been running like this with only 1 connected for over a year and no issues. (BTW, it's cheaper just to take off 1 stock connector and have your sway bar connected only on one side. You get full flex plus the body sway is non-noticeable. And you save $150 by not buying the discos in the first place)
Will there be problems with it hitting or getting caught?
Get the discos from Rusty's (JKS discos PN 2034 I believe)
I don't drive like a bat outta hell but if I did, yea I'd notice the body sway more. So it's more on a case by case basis.
No there isn't any hitting anywhere. It comes close when fully compressed but I've offroaded with it disco'd several times and have yet to hit anything with the sway bar. Actually, I plan on removing my from sway altogether.
Hahaha yea I dont drive that way every time I get her going, but I cant stand people and get frustrated rather quickly in most cases, I believe Ive heard the term road rage before but Im still investigating what that is!!! I guess learning to drive in Brooklyn didnt help..
Brooklyn! I've only been to NYC once and we went through Queens (actually liked it here), Brooklyn, and Hunts Point. If I lived there, I'd drive like hell thinking I was gonna get butt raped any time I got below 20 mph. I understand why you drive like you do now!
