my fab guy said it should be done with in a month or so with test fitting and all that. I will update when ever he gives me update pic's. Since this is my DD I can not just leave it with him, so will have to go see him about once a week to have the bumper test fit.
Sweet project. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

will be doing the first test fit this week.
Looking good man.
How far is does it come out? You're cutting that center crossmember up front to tuck the winch into?
Looks good!

A early test fit, Alot left but looking really good.
Thats coming along great man! I like how he chamfered the top edge to smooth out the profile, making it look less bulky.
Curious to see how the final product looks matched up to the cut fender flare. I like how trialbyfires flare sits on top of the bumper for a nice finished look.
Thx. I can't until it is done.
New member on the JC site is posting some good pics of the maniac bumper.... man this is sweet. I hope yours ends up close to this. I asked him to post more pictures.... hopefully they help your fabricator. I really like how it ties into the fenders.

Can't turn back now lol
Here is an update on how the new bumper with the winch sitting in it.
Looking good man!!
Did he try mounting the winch feet forward to reduce the height needed for the cover? Only downside is reaching underneath for the clutch release... but most winches have power reverse now.
the cradle is in. Still needs to be finish welded & painted. The old bumper is back on so I can still drive to & from work. As you can see that the bumper will only stick out maybe a 3/4 of a inch past the factory bumper.

This is how my XK was looking like last week.
This is my DD & the frame was cut, so had the stock bumper over the winch cradle. This show help all see how close to the factory shape. it will only stick out maybe another 1/4" with the bumper mounted.
So I dropped it off with the fab guy yesterday & he stated working on it then. I was told that I should be able to pick up the bumper tomorrow to take it to line x to get color coated to the jeep tomorrow. Once that is done I will be able to get it mounted with winch for good.
Can't wait. I will post more pics soon.
Looks great, can't wait to see the final product! So you're getting it Line X'd red? How close can they color match that?

I know a bad pic, I will get better ones up soon.
The fab guy did not like the way the bumper was going so he decided to redo from scratch. Using heavier gage steel and some other improvements.
The one on the ground was the first edition.
Nice. Looks like the ends angle up more at the bottom. That will look sweet
I agree thats looking like a nice shape. Gotta give your fab guy some credit.... he definitely takes pride in his products if he's near the end and says "no, I gotta start this over.. its not good enough".
If he gets this bumper right he should be able to sell a bunch of them!
I agree & that's the plan.
One of the major changes he did was went with a thicker steel, part of it is that he knows me & knows I will really test his bumper lol. He also wanted it to be a cleaner look follow the lines better. We had changed directions part way thru while making the last one, so that was part of it.
If all goes well I should be able to pick up on Thur & get it to Line X to get done & then have it installed in the jeep. I can not wait
