I may have a line on an XK in a salvage yard. The owner of the yard is a good guy and said if it has the skids on it that I could just make him an offer. What would be a good price to offer for a package deal on the skids ?

Brand new you can get them for around $320 shipped. So if they're the upgraded ones, i'd say $150 would be a nice deal (is it a pick&pull or do they do the work? That may increase the price a bit to get the gas tank skid down)
either way. they are usually pretty cool about pulling us stuff but I could go do it. I dont care much about laying around under cars in a junk yard in the summer time.
honestly, pulling the gas tank skid off when you dont have to worry about the lines and pump is a breeze. Might be good practice to take it down yourself anyway so you know what to expect when you put it on yours.
Don't forget to do the gas tank skid "mod" before installing it https://theultimatejeep.com/notfound.png
What else can you grab off of it? Maybe you can get some items and sell them here......?
I would stick to $150 or below.
That's a good point! Does it have QDII? Would be worth getting the axles and tcase..... I'm sure someone here will eventually need a new tcase with the wheeling we're doing and the diffs would be great to have especially if they ever make some lower gear for us...
If it has the sat/nav bezel, i would be interested in it.
Has anyone else checked the local pick and pull, I had not really considered this, but that might be a way to get my pocket style fender flares as well
I missed out. Someone bought the whole thing.
