Are you looking for an All Terrain tire or a Mud Terrain?
Saw an article in Petersons about those Wildpeaks, they seemed to think they held their own for sure on the rocks. Preformed well all around.
Im considering them when its time for me to get new ones down the road.
Sounds good. Now get them ordered along with that Rusty's adjustable track bar!
Obviously they seem to make a good tire. I've seen several people on JF use them and they seem to like them.
Since your XK sees mostly rocks and highway, I think it's a wise choice.
Lol i was looking at these tires a few weeks ago... i think its on the project jk rig. From the videos i saw they preformed well but i think they were real heavy... might wana double check tho
Sal, a co-worker of mine just had a set installed on his stock XK and he really likes them. Riding around town and on the highway they were noticeably quieter and smoother than my Bridgestone Revo 2 AT's granted my tires are probably halfway worn. I'd definitely consider a set especially after seeing them in person, the tread has a lot of depth and look like they would perform well for the type of driving you do.
Cool thanks bro!

What others have said! They are great tires. I have a few buddies out here that beat them pretty hard in the rocks and they do very well. I had a really hard time deciding between these and the Nittos. Next time around i might go with the WP since I now have a dedicated wheeling set. I really like the grooving that they did for KOH! I might have to copy that design to get a little more performance out of them :D
I just ordered mine 285/70/17

Woo hoo!!!! Will they be on before the 31st?
That post was pretty funny! I decided not to wait to get them I'm going wheeling at the end of the month and want to be done and set for the summer.

I can't wait until you get them installed and let us know how everything works out. I'll take some pictures this week when I cut my fender flares just incase you decide to go that route. Im going to take 1 inch off the flares all the way around (front and rear) and modify my plastic inner fender well liners to keep mud/water out of the engine bay. That might take some creative thinking though since i'll have no way to rivet the liners back onto the flares once I cut 1 inch off.
Ya I'd like to see that mod. Hopefully there in stock and I'll have them soon.

You rock man! Thank you for your business. I'm running a set of these on my Wrangler and they have been unstoppable for me. I'm not easy on them either. A little over a week ago I went out to Tierra Del sol and tried to get some footage of the rock guards on the level 8 ZX. To get the footage I had to really abuse the sidewalls. When I post the video I'll show you what I am talking about. These tires are tough!
That's good to hear because rocks are about 90% of my wheeling.

Great news looks like my tires will be here by the 15th!!!!! That was a lot faster then I thought they were going to get here.
I find it hard to believe Sal isn't putting something "extreme" on his XK.... toning it down with ATs to be "practical"??? Someone check if he has a fever...
Dude just take out your hearing aid... loudness problem solved! :D
.....going to run and hide now! https://theultimatejeep.com/images/i...angry017-1.gif
Ya when I first got them I was ok with it but that wore out. They gripped like mad off road that's for sure but as much as I avoid mud the MT's were not worth it. Then took into account the highway miles between my house and the trails and the beach the rough ride and noise was out weighing the benefits for me. I run mostly rocks and sand so I think the AT's will be a good fit. I would never discourage anyone from running the maxis big horns that's for sure those things were off road beasts that bit hard and took serious abuse.

Thats why I like my MT/R's w/Kevlar. They really aren't that loud (well I dont think they are) and they are awsome in every terrain. Not only that but they are amazing in the snow too!
same reasons I went with the duratrac.... AT tread in the middle section and MT lugs on the outside. :)
If they didnt have the all terrain section in the middle of the MT/R's they would be crazy loud!
