I washed mine it was covered in yellow guts from helping AJ move. The new paint I put cleaned right up no problems much happier with this stuff over the rustolem bed liner spray.

I was just sitting in the sun and this was just after starting her up. It was really only 83.
wow...i thought my XK had a lot of miles on it!
Yeah it does. I'm pretty amazed that it really still drives and runs like day 1.
My F150 I took to 258,000 and the Blazer before that was 238,000.
But I do have that new to me used trans.
AC wasn't keepin up today, I have to throw my guages on that tonight.
The lift is working out, I have a little squeak in the back, I'm going to put new rubbers on the springs this weekend.
Thanks again bro....
Gassed her up with Premium at Sam's Club for $3.97 a gal. I just wanted in on pg. 1. ;)
Worked on the new hidden winch bumper

So you guys know I slapped on some MOABs. I took a 130 (round trip) mile drive all highway today, and this is my mileage. I'm up almost 2mpgs :)
Gave the beast a wax job, only took me three hours!

lol thanks for the sneak peak!!
Washed mine today as well.... no wax though
They clean up perty! Walking back to my XK today I stared at like a blonde with big.... Well you get the idea LOL
Finished replacing lower ball joints, upper ball joints and bushings I started last Sunday. Now maybe I can get it aligned!
I also replaced the passenger CV (again) because the current one was very stiff and probably contributing to my poor gas mileage.
Washed her up.... printed out some pictures and leaving soon for the englishtown car show
Last night I tore apart the rear end again. My mission was to install 1 inch bump stop spacers. After some crazy articulation testing during the process I ended up installing the 2 inch spacers. I think the rear end is good to go now. With the HD OME coils the rear end doesn't stuff the tires into the fender flares like it did when I had the spacer lift on. I'm thinking it has something to do with the higher spring rate coils. 7 more days until groves grog mud bog and I think I might go creek wheeling again today. I found out late last night that a bunch of the local guys are heading down there this afternoon.
I did not do squat, just drove it.........for crying out loud, it's a Jeep! Lol.........
Relocated the light bar to the front (removed the rack yesterday, not going to run one for now), couple of brackets off the radiator support panel that come through the grille.

Also installed the other of the singles (one each side at the rear), used the factory bolt and notched the side rail cover out to sit around it.

Rears are currently wired to the switch panel in the front, just have to put in a second feed from the reverse lights. Eventually!

I miss the roof rack and light set up. Is there no way you can carry a document with you signed off by the locals that says you are within regulations??
I wish. You have the land of the free, i'm in the land of do what your goddamn told! In my state you cant even engineer a modified lift - engine changes etc are all ok as per regs, but tyres and lift are set. Having said that I can engineer the new diff mounts and locations, just not the height or tyre size. Means if i at least get pulled over by the police it will look like im doing the right thing and just wear the fines for the tyres.
I may put a different rack up, but a slimmer one.
The powdercoat on the rack had all gone chalky, and there are a couple of decent rust holes in the main frame, so it wasnt just for looks. Now its off the truck, it wont sit on the ground flat either, so the twist in the body (whatever little there is) has been enough to twist the rack. For what i paid it was actually pretty disappointing. Was the first one in Queensland though - never be the first its the one they experimented on!
I realized I never put up pics of my new tires. I actually went with the Hankook Dynapro ATMs. The wheels are from a 05 Grand Cherokee that I painted. I used a coat of self etching primer, two coats flat black, and 3 coats of satin clear coat. I'm really happy at how they turned out.

I put my carpet back in. Way easier this time around.
Saturday night I articulated the rear to see how close everything is with the 2 inch bump stop spacers installed. The top of the tire tucks right into the fender well (It looks like its touching in the picture but its no where near). The front of the rear fender flare has about 2mm of clearance before the tire rubs and the tire just touches the rear part of the flare.

Wowzers!
Me+you+Sal @ RC ASAP....
I was actually thinking of getting my dad to come for a fathers day ride on the 17th.... there were a few other people interested and it was going to be all greens to keep it simple for them, but I have a feeling they're all going to bail.
Let me know. I'm definitely going next month. Mostly blues and I wanna tackle that hill climb i blew my t-case on last time i went.
Would the 17th work for you guys? If we plan on being there the same day then it wont matter if they bail on me or not, ill be going regardless. :)
I'll talk to my little bother and see what he says. Anytime works for me since I can put in leave whenever. His birthday is the 8th though and I know he wanted to go that weekend. I think he took off already too.
I see. Let me know what he says and we'll figure it out from there. :)
Last night I reinstalled my 4xguard belly skid. Its been off for a while now because I was to lazy to bolt it back on. Im ready for the mud bog Saturday!
Reinstalled all of my skids (had them off for my trans work) and then trimmed the gas tank skid so my driveshaft stops hitting it:

Like a great THINKER, I sat in a camping chair for about 1.5 hrs today thinking of ways to further the progress on my Jeep. I walked around clockwise a few times, then counter clockwise. Sometimes I would stop, scratch my head, and rub chin then keep walking. Then I'd sit down, and think further. Then I'd get up look underneath and lay underneath, lol. It was a good morning.
Oh, and I also cleaned, sanded, and impact marks on my Sliders. Today was fun.
Removed the roofrack & dropped it off at a welding shop to have it welded into 1 sold piece verse the 3 separate pieces held together with screws. The reason why for this is water gets in & rusts from the inside out & leaves rust stains all over the XK when the water leaks out. also the welding shop will be fabing a spare tire mount in the rack. Had the Xk washed. Flushed the engine, Changed the oil W/M1 Full Syn. Cleaned the CAI filter. removed all the skid plates (exception of fuel tank skid) to pound back out & paint. Drain & filled T-Case & Rear Diff. Used Mopar NV245 Fluid for T-Case. M1 75-140 W Friction Mod additive for rear diff. Did not change the front diff fluid because it appears to look like it has a leak, the cv on the pass side appears to be wet. Having the shop look at it, its covered under my Extended Warranty 0 deductible. Grounded the TB using a 12g wire. Added a fuel additive to clean out the fuel lines. cleaned out the TB butterfly area (currently set off check engine light). removed the battery pos & neg for about 20 to 30 min today & it did not turn off the check eng light. I also removed the gas cap & re attached it as well. I will see if it still on tomorrow after some time for the XK to sit. if still an issue will use the flashpaq to see if it will reset it. Tomorrow after the wife is taken care of I might be able to install the unistrut bars I had & painted so when I get the rack back it will have lower profile.
That's one hell of a list! Why don't you use the flashpack to see what the engine light is on for? Might be something simple like you forgot to plug the IAT sensor back in after cleaning the intake....
LOL the weather has been great here lately plus I am on 2 week vacation decided to get a bunch done. The light went off today while driving, I had forgot to plug in the sensor that was in the CAI tube.
Whats left is to do from that list is drop the XK off to have the front diff looked at. Clean up pound out the skids & paint where needed. They earned the price I paid for them will post pics this week.
It will be probably a week or so before I get the roof rack back as well.
Most of the remainder on the list will be completed this week.
I will say I think grounding the TB plate does help the throttle response at least for the Hemi's.
Yesterday we drove it to Moab.... Today is a whole new story :)
Jealous Much!
I made a roof top light bar from unistrut, wired up some Rigid Dually's, and installed my Contura rocker switches with my Saguaro4x switch panel.
