THE Roof Rack Thread (Details and pictures of everyones roof rack)

Figured this would be a good thread to have. There are a bunch of different racks being used by members, as well as some alternative mounting options... but the information is spread all over the place (garages, home grown solutions, etc).

Thought it would be a good idea for everyone to post up their rack details along with a bunch of pictures. Good pictures showing mounting, side/front/rear view, loaded, etc.

Good idea with the unit strut to keep it low profile - did you notice a difference in drag from the standard mount on the cross bars?

Thanks it was a big diff in just noise alone. I'm pretty happy with it so far it does need a third support in the middle though do to my mesh floor.

Matt, What you can do is as people start posting there baskets put a link to that basket in the first post so people can jump right to the post they want.

Rage cargo basket & low pro rails

    Rage roof basket 62.5" x 45"

First, I had to make some new cross rails that were lower profile (so i can park in the garage at work). I used curtain alluminum rails that we use at work. Cut them to length and test fitted them..............

Then I sprayed them with undercoating/bed liner stuff and installed them in their resting area..........

I gained 1.25"s of lower profile....with the sport bars (including the mounts) it was a total of 4"s high.......with my home-mades it came out to be 2 3/4"s high.

Then it was time for the basket......I picked this basket because of Sal's review and torture tests......Anywho, on to the pics.....
