I just have a question for those in the know:

Is a 2wd commander electronically controlled limited slip? I have the awd '06 limited and realize that doing gear changes in these diffs are difficult mainly due to the computer controlled QDII system... so what does the 2wd guys have?

This is a lead-in question for a bigger one.

I've noticed very limited interest in the solid axle swap on these rigs and I think that is due to the QDII system (while an awesome system) limits the drivetrain options. So why not take a 2wd and go from there? At that point you could get a transfer case/trans and axle of choice... essentially downgrade the QDII to a more mod-friendly manual system.

I haven't put a huge amount of research into it, but the idea just came to mind. Any thoughts?
