Oh noes! My Commander turned 70k!

I hope to post some audio/video tomorrow, of the new Flowmaster, and it's 31 flavors of awesome loudness I'm sure I'll regret eventually!

    Lightbulb

It does seem a little quieter in the video, than it actually does in the truck. Around 2,000 rpm, you do get the all-over subwoofer sort of effect - especially with the windows down. With the stereo wide-open, windows up, and a/c on, it's NOT as noticeable.

Don't know how long this muffler will last - especially since I barely put 7k miles a year on a car (I walk to work - I keep the Jeep parked at my office!) - but I'm DEFINITELY leaning towards a 50-series for the NEXT replacement!

If you haven't replaced your factory muffler, it weighs 50lbs if it weighs an OUNCE! I've NEVER seen a passenger/non-commericial vehicle muffler THAT big, and I've owned a FULL-SIZED Bronco & Ramcharger, too!!!

I know what you mean about the old being big as heck, when I replaced mine I replaced with 50 Series Big Block - Three Chamber Mufflers & really enjoy it. The only time I really hear it in the XK is when I step on it (which I do all the time hence the 11 mpg if I am lucky lol)

Pulled the gas tank out today. I cut the gas tank skid plate so the drive shaft doesnt hit it anymore when the rear end is flexed out and installed a new rear upper control arm above gas tank. The tank needs to be dropped to get to the front bolt so I figured it was a perfect time to replace it. Ill replace the other three rear control arms in the near future.

Gas tank skid plate mod was a success. I got a late call last night to recover a lifted Cherokee who was burried out on the gas lines. It was very muddy back there with several crazy off camber hill climbs on the way out. The rear drive shaft no longer comes in contact with the skid plate!
