My bet would be on tire wear/balance. Check those first, especially if you haven't rotated or balanced them in a while.

The more I think about it, the more I think it may be the issue. I recently swapped one of my wheels with my spare (bought the tires used and 2 were less tread than the other 3) so now its a "fresh" tire on there that was balanced. But I didn't get the other 3 balanced while I was at it.

i have the same problem. it's almost spot on at 15 MPH speeding up or slowing down. I didnt' have it prior to putting my 4" lift on. I know my tires are not wearing evenly, pluse I have had my wheels swapped between a few different sets of rims so i'm pretty cofident it's not the a balance problem in my case. I have very aggresive lug pattern with my procomp extreme mud terrain and my alignment being off, its just making it worse. I rotate my tires every 3K to help in the longevity of my tires.

Have you changed your pinion seal in the rear? Could it be a bad bearing in the rear differential?

I'm right there with you guys..... except I'm not worried about the trans because they're not hard to swap out and really not thaaaaat expensive for a part that should only need to be changed once in the vehicles life.
Replaced my Tranny at 85k... rough story.
