    Matts rock rail install

Put on my 4XG rock rails today. Was a bit more challenging with the fit than i expected... but im also a perfectionist (one time i caught myself trying to make a 1/32" adjustment to them... as if it mattered! lol)

Haven't had the chance to use this fancy tool in a while...

Another little trick I used, since i was installing these myself, was to put a 20mm 1/2" socket in the "jacking" points on the rails then use the floor jacks to lift from there. This helped "pivot" the rails up in place for putting the top rivets in (although the instructions are written for metal screws, not rivets...)

I gained about 1.5" in width:

And also gained about 5/8" ground clearance at the rockers:

lol that's actually exactly why i ended up taking the 4xg sticker off. I put it on and looked at it, then realized i really like how "stock" they look, not to mention it then looked like I put a random sticker on the side of my vehicle

I like them a lot, just can't afford or justify them right now. Your XK is looking great bro, keep up the good work.
