4.7's still have more torque. And that RPM is kinda high to realize the true power of that V6.

Interesting. Haven't ever driven one obviously. They've got several options of diff gears in the Wranglers and I wonder if that would help it out. I think they offer 3.27, 3.73, and 4.11.

the 3.6L Pentastar definitely has more powerful and torque than the 3.7, 3.8 and 4.0 HO. - It has 4.7L HP - but it's shy of that 4.7L torque - but it is actually pretty close and those who have driven wranglers and cherokee's/grand cherokee's with the 3.7, 3.8 or 4.0 - will feel the difference when the step on the gas. Wranglers folks will love it...
Depending on which vehicle you get it in the engine has a different horse power rating. The one for the 200/Avenger puts out 283 HP. The one they put in the Challenger is rated at 305 HP. They accomplish this by using different intake manifolds.

The wrangler crowd has mix emotions about the new engine from what I have read. The one thing they agree on is the where the power comes in is not advantageous to wheeling. You need that grunt at lower RPM's but we all know they ain't putting a diesel or a V8 in the wrangler.
It should make it more viable on the street that's for sure. Maybe if the wrangler guys can change out the manifold and do some computer stuff they can move the torque down lower. Or just have the diesel ...... oh well

Yeah - the power to reach those RPMs is pretty close to the rev.
