From what I read elsewhere he ran into some dificulties with the city as well as having a full time job so his time in the shop "gaarage" is limited. I will call him later today for an update.

Okay... Enough of the waiting, I started the bumper yesterday and will update as I go along for your comments and suggestions. Remember this bumper cannot meet everyone's expectations but I will do my best. The first thing I noticed is that there is no way a Warn Powerplant will fit in this bumper, guess that means two versions are coming instead of one.

Anyway the first thing you are going to have to do is remove your current bumper & grill and then cut out the center support.

I did it with a saws-all but you can do it several different ways.

I then hit it with some rust protection (primer) but I will go back and paint it all on the final install.

Then bolt in the new mounting plate:

    Install your winch:

and then install the some to be finished bumper to the mounting plate.

Here are some mock-ups for your review and comments:

The silver line you see under the "Bumper Skid Plate" is the ASFIR Front Skid Plate.

These photos show both the new "Bumper" and the attached "Bumper Skid Plate" that will go into production.

There are pads on both sides of the winch that should hold a stinger I will mock one up and show you what I am thinking, need to get some cardboard tube.......

It's looking good! I like the hidden winch and the fact that the window washer reservoir doesn't need to move.

I like the bumper man! It looks good with the skid plate part.

Is that mounting plate going to be strong enough to support the winch without ripping the whole bumper off when using it?

I missed this question, yes the mounting plate will be bolted to the frame and then the bumper will bolt to the mounting plate. The number of attachment bolts will depend on design but there are currently four and I am trying to design four additional bolts into the mounting plate. There will then be six or eight bolts that connect the bumper to the mounting plate.

Front bumper is coming along well. The winch plate is finished and installed with a new winch. The bumper mounting brackets are attached and the front of the bumper is installed with the fairlead and optional "D" ring hardware.

Tomorrow we tack on all the other panels to see what the finished product will look like.
