Neil how does the stock shift knob come off. I have a old tap head from the brewery that my grandma worked at. I want to see if that works.

the bottom of the knob has a separate piece, like a collar , that turns. it only turns a quarter turn or so then the knob lifts right off. it is pretty tight , especially the first time you try to turn it.

no threads. it it some kind of a " squeeze " design. LOL ! yes, righty tighty, lefty loosy applies.
