    How To Replace Window Switch

The switch on my driver door was no longer able to close the front passenger door window so the time to replace the switch has come.

What you will need for the job is part number 1-04602781AA and a trim removal tool (I used a screw driver). The part cost me $50 at the dealer and they had it in stock. I have found it cheaper online. Note: The pictures of the part were the original that failed. The new part actually looks new

You do NOT need to remove the door card to replace this part.

Simply pry up carefully on the surround that holds the switches in place. I found that the front came up easier than the rear so I started there.

There is not a lot of extra wire in there so that is about as far as it will lift up.

Then the trim piece can be removed from the switch module. You will see tabs that snap over the claws on the switch module. You can let the trim swing out of the way or remove the connector to the mirror switch and get it out of the way completely.

Now you can remove the two connectors on the switch module itself. The rear connector on mine had a little more slack so I disconnected that one first. These connectors have a locking tab you need to depress.

Reassembly is the reverse of what you just read.

This job was extremely easy and will probably take you longer to read this how-to than to do the actual repair!
