Which metal would you think is best to make a snorkel out of? I only choose these two types because its something I can work on as well as find a shop to work on as well.
Aluminum
Stainless steel

I do not know the two metals well enough to vote, but aluminum would be lighter and stainless would be easier to care for.

So how bad would it look with a 3" tube going up to the A pillar. Or should it be boxy. Obviously boxy would be more work cutting and welding flat stock together over just having a tube bent a couple of times.
The way you bump into things, I think your best bet would be stainless. unless you are taking the air from inside the XK.
I voted stainless. Don't have to worry about galvanic corrosion using steel fasteners.
Good points I'll go stainless then. Now should Make a template or just give the shop my jeep to have the pipe bent. I think it can be solid pipe no joints that shouldn't be to hard to bend up.
Ya that top or one like on the hummer. I'd like to stay away from PVC maybe use it for a template.
