The problem with that is the Hummer hood opens by flipping forward, therefore the snorkel is not in the way when it opens up. A lot more trouble with a traditionally opening hood.

That's one of the issues I was having while designing one.

Regardless of how the hood opens you are going to run into problems. It there is a way to build it into to Panel between the Hood and Windshield like the H1 I would assume that is the best route

I was looking at this idea last year I'm sure there is thread on it somewhere LOL. It can't be done without cutting the hood and you can't go into the piece next to the window because thats where the HVAC system draws it air from. Then there was the issue of space in that sections of under the hood. No filter could be used in there so the filter would have to be outside which also caused a design problem. It can be done anything can be done I just ran into to many problems that the cure was more then I wanted to do or had the skill to do. I'm all ears on all ideas if you can figure a way to do it I would diffidently take a look.

The way you bump into things, I think your best bet would be stainless. unless you are taking the air from inside the XK.

I voted stainless. Don't have to worry about galvanic corrosion using steel fasteners.

Good points I'll go stainless then. Now should Make a template or just give the shop my jeep to have the pipe bent. I think it can be solid pipe no joints that shouldn't be to hard to bend up.

Are you going to use the safari snorkel top? That's what I did on my explorer except I pieced it together with PVC on the exterior.
