Glad we made it up for the day...sorry we couldn't stay longer - but hey, it was worth spending 17 hours straight in the XK, not sure the kids agree though Hope you guys have a great rest of the week.

I want to start by thanking all the members who were able to make it, the turn out was great and it was great to see so many friends again and too meet a few new ones as well. Members in attendance included:

    1) Bjamrow
    2) Brendon (+3)
    3) HueyPilot (+3)
    4) Knappster (+1)
    5) Ped (+1)
    6)RockyMountainCanary (+3)
    7) Strokez (+1)
    8) TrialByire (+2)
    9) Tymac (+3)

We were able to cover many of the trails and on a couplke occassions split into dierent groups so that those who wanted to try some of the more difficult trails were able to do that without others being too concerned with trail damage. There was minor damage to a couple of rigs but overall things went very well and all members, their families & frineds and all XK's got through the event in one piece.

If awards were to be given I think I would get the one for the most breakage and thankfully it was all minor; I lost power to my radio (no CB communication), tore the coolant line off for the back heater allowing three gallons of coolant to escape, flat tire, tore off a grounding strap & lost the top bolt in a rear shock.

Many of us arrived at the Buena Vista KOA on Sunday night and other arrived Monday.

Monday we ran two trails, most members ran the Fourmile Area in the morning for a total of 25 miles with a second more difficult trail in the afternoon called Chinaman Pass (I am sure members will tell their stores as soon as they get home and setteled in).

    The Long Day...

Tuesday was a real long day (trails take twice as long as the book says) and we coved four of the trails in one trail ride.

The first stretch of road took us down the highway to the ghosttown of St. Elmo, from there we hit the following trails:

Tincup Pass Trail; 12,154 feet / 12.4 miles

Cumberland Pass Trail; 12,015 feet / 15.7 miles

Alpine Tunnel Road; 11,597 feet / 9.5 miles

Handcock Pass Trail; 12,140 feet / 9.3 miles

for a total of approximately 45 miles
