Is it safe to jumpstart a Sea-doo?

My wife and her ex-husband had purchased a sea doo while the were married and it's in my garage... I have very little experience with these, but now the weather's warming up and it's getting to be time to take it out again. I tried turning over last week for the first time since September and the battery is dead. Before I run out and buy either a charger or battery, I thought I could hook up the XK and jump it. Or will this fry the electronics?

I don't think you should jump it off the XK.

You need to have a solid battery and trickle charger for any vessel for the water you can't just pull over and walk home

While I don't disagree with what Sal said, if you just want to get it running you should be able to "charge" it off your XK battery. I'm not certain it's the same but I've always read with motorcycles you are supposed to jump it without the vehicle running. Something about over powering the smaller electronics if you jump it with the Jeep running..
