I agree with you GP that you can take your regular size pop up, make base camp, and then go wheeling. I have a couple friends that do that now with their Jeep and pop up. What I like about this unit is the compact size. Its a tent for a family of 4 (that's me) with indoor sitting if needed and room to throw folding chairs and gear inside when you close it. Being compact then gives me several options for storing when not in use. I have been looking at used pups but they are more than this tent camper would need. What I dont like is the MSRP they are slapping on these. Raping you for the brand name.

I found this the other day and realized that either Mopar is getting the base unit from this company and making mods or they stole the idea: http://www.livinlite.com/6.0-overview.php
The QuickSilver 6.0 is the exact same configuration for half the cost. A 2010 unit retails for about $5,500, while I am sure you could find a used 2009 for cheaper. I do see that the QuickSilver is not as rugged as the Mopar unit as it has a canvas top enclosure and the legs that support the sleeping area look to be lightweight poles. But its and option.
