Winch / Bumper Airbag issues?

I was reading in the owners manual that you shouldn't mount a winch or snow plow because it could cause malfunctions in the airbag system causing it to deploy without cause or not deploy when needed.


How did you address this issue with your winch / bumper install?

The airbags are deployed by a certain number of Gs upon impact. I dont see how installing a winch or bumper would affect this unless you were to tamper with the airbag sensors.
