    Changing plugs oem=ngk?

    I was at the dealer today getting a key programmed and decided to get a set of plugs for my 2010 5.7hemi. Opened the box and the plugs are an ngk nickel plug. Every jeep/Chrysler I have owned has had champions? I thought this was pretty interesting. Part number is splzfr5c11

    Hopefully, between now and the end of the year I can get them changed out.

    In 2009 Chrysler superseded the Champions with the NGK's.

    Edit: "superseded" is probably the wrong term.... they still supply SPRE14MCC4 for 05-08 5.7L's.

    I'd go with the OEM recommended plug for your model year.

    When I changed my plugs, I went with the OEM plugs, I don't trust putting anything but OEM plugs in it, I have had a friend of mine up here put platinum plugs in his jeep and it literally had detonation about 500 miles later. So stick with OEM. The part number should be on the hood. Just my .02

    That's interesting, I hadn't heard that. I never had any issue with champions but I have been running nothing but ngk in my motorcycles and atv's longer than I have been driving. It's interesting they made the switch after all these years.

    Really, any correctly matched quality plug will work fine. Problem is not all plug manufacturers do their do diligence when specifying a matching plug or ensuring a quality plug.

    I am also getting some new tires tomorrow. Putting some terra grapplers on, should look better than the Pirelli street tires the last owner put on.

    I just like running OEM plugs I mine there are different kinds, NGK, Champion, Autolite and some others....LMAO I think mine are NGK copper but I want use platinum or anything like that.

    Eh im not a fan of the terra grapplers... the cheesy lightning bolts on the sidewalls remind of "hotwheels"

    LMAO....I see alot of them up here..I think it's more for looks than use...I don't like them either..Goodyear Silent Armors would be a better fit

    Wow, not much nitto love here. From what I have seen they are a pretty decent tire. I know lots who run them. The toyo mt's I ran on my jk were fantastic tires.

    They were an extremely popular tire a few years ago. They started to get a bad rep in the full-size truck world for wearing quick.

    I just could never get over the lightning bolts lol.

    Check out the new Toyo AT-II's

    I do like the toyo at 2, looks like a great tire. Problem is with my 18" wheels there are not many options when it comes to tires. Most are special order, such as the toyo and the Goodyear silent armour. From what I have seen the grappler lasts about as long as all the other common AT tires. I really don't expect more than 40-50k out of any off road tire. Although I did get 48k out of my toyo mt. I figure the nitto can't be too far off from the toyo since they are both the same company.

    I thought the flames would make it look tougher anyway. It's the family cruiser, I just need it to be better than bald Pirelli scorpions on it now.
