Bra causes headache for lawyer visiting Miami jail (June 13th, 2010 @ 5:41am)

MIAMI (AP) - An attorney claims she couldn't visit her client at a South Florida detention center because of the undergarment she was wearing. The attorney said an underwire bra set off a metal detector at the Miami Federal Detention Center earlier this month. Guards at the facility then wouldn't let the woman inside.

According to The Miami Herald, the attorney removed the bra in a bathroom and again tried to enter the detention center. This time, guards refused to let her inside because she wasn't wearing a bra.

The woman later e-mailed other attorneys about the incident.

Officials at the detention center declined to comment to the newspaper, as did the attorney who was involved.

    Two-faced kitten puzzles veterinarian in W.Va. (June 13th, 2010 @ 5:51am)

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The kitten born with two faces in Charleston was given a 50 percent chance of survival by an area veterinarian. The kitten known as Two Face brought the animal to the vet shortly after it was born on Wednesday because its mother refused to nurse the kitten. Dr. Erica Drake said the kitten was born with a rare condition called diprosopus, which means the kitten literally has two faces. Two Face has four eyes, two noses and two mouths.

Drake said the kitten's two mouths act independently and she believes each mouth has a separate esophagus leading to one stomach. It'll take a closer look at the kitten's internal anatomy before known about how the kitten will be able to function

Washed out bridge cancels weddings in Boulder (June 13th, 2010 @ 5:52am)

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - What's worse than rain on your wedding day? Try a swollen creek washing out the only bridge to your dream wedding spot. This week's flooding destroyed the bridge to Boulder's Red Lion Restaurant, forcing couples to scramble to find last minute accommodations for hundreds of guests this weekend.

Andrea Maneely and Tom Prince met waiting tables there and thought it would be the perfect place to exchange their vows. They had to find another spot at the last minute for double the price.

Manager Christina Mueller said she doesn't know how she's going to make up the $100,000 in lost business but she said she's getting an attitude check from her brides.

Sunday's bride plans to take up a collection to help fix the bridge.

Police: Drive-thru order ends in food fight, brawl (June 13th, 2010 @ 11:02am)

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - Hamburgers, fries, punches and chairs all were thrown during a fight involving customers and employees of a fast food restaurant in Kalamazoo that ended with two arrests. Police said four customers in a vehicle at a Wendy's drive-thru lane midday Saturday claimed their order was incorrect. Police said they hurled drinks, hamburgers and fries at an employee inside.

Police said the employee then threw food at the vehicle, hitting it with a drink, ketchup and fries, and two people from the vehicle went inside the restaurant, where they fought with employees.

Two of the customers were arrested on charges of assault. The employee had scrapes and abrasions, but didn't need medical attention.

Police said employees blamed the fight on a "communication breakdown."

Deer drops in for dinner at upstate NY restaurant (June 14th, 2010 @ 5:27am)

BATAVIA, N.Y. (AP) - It wasn't on the menu, but customers at a western New York restaurant got an up-close look at some venison on the hoof.

Management and customers say a deer crashed through a window at an Applebee's in Batavia just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

Customer Bruce Beck, who was visiting from Wisconsin, says the deer nearly slid into the booth next to his before veering away and running through the restaurant.

Witnesses say people were able to herd the deer out the front door.

    No one was hurt.
