    Glock 23......Opinions??

Hey guys, I have the opportunity to get a Glock 23 from a friend in exchange for some work on his new house. Just wondering if anyone has one and has any opinion to offer. Likes/dislikes?

I really have no need for a compact since it's impossible to get a CCW permit in NJ but, it's basically a new gun (and I would probably do the work for him for free anyway). He said he used it for qualifying once and that was it. So it probably had about 100 rounds run through it.

    Thanks

Glock makes a good no nonsense gun. They are very sqare for my liking though. I have the Springfield XDS and I love it. But in your case it's a great gun for doing some work

If it's an older gun, you should be fine. I understand there were some hiccups in their Gen. III guns, just from the chatter I've read on numerous gun forums. I almost bought a Glock 22 in the early '90's... but the deal fell through. I switched to all 1911's - all the time, after 9/11. Other than shooting my college wingman's Glock 21 while we were in college in the early '90's, I can't tell you much more about 'em.

Thanks for the responses guys. It seems like a pretty nice gun, and I'll get it for next to nothing, so I guess it's kind of a no-brainer. I was just wondering if anyone had one and had any opinions about it.

@War Wagon - The 1911's are nice. On my list. The Glock just kind of fell into my hands.

Hey - in NJ, ANY modern firearm you can get your hands on (LEGALLY!), is a GOOD gun to have!

As strict as they are here, you can still get some nice guns (with limitations of course). As an example, my neighbor recently picked up an AR15, but a number of available versions are illegal in NJ, so he had to limit the options on it to keep it legit. From what I understand my NJ Firearms permit will allow me to acquire a CCW permit in PA and possibly Ct. I need to look into that.
