Marine grade hook & loop from Mcmaster.com will adhere to anything...
You have a ton of surface area there to work with, I'm sure several strips of self adhesive velcro will get the job done.. if it doesn't end up holding to the dash side, a few more dollars after 6+ months of use and you will be ready to roll again
or better yet.. attach the velcro with 3m molding tape
I'm looking at this little gizmo now, as a way to offset my radio down closer to the shifter. It bends & telescopes enough directions, that I think it'll work, with that base properly mounted.

Actually, yes, it's all covered and held down with velcro.
It's funny (and annoying) that I posted pics somewhere, but I guess there are too many forums and such where I post these days. I can't get to my Photobucket account from work (damn IT rules!), so I'll post from home when I get the chance.
I used spray adhesive and some fabric to cover the wood. Someday I'll find some nicer fabric or vinyl and recover. I am using 2 strips of wide velcro to hold it in place. This is turning out to work quite well! In fact, it's a bit of a PITA to get the setup out for cleaning. I could probably roll the Jeep (God save me!) and the CB will stay in place. Absolutely no rattles, movement, or issues.
