Since I was going to have my hands on a bunch of struts I figured I'd take some measurements for comparison. People always talk about extra "length" but I haven't ever seen any concrete numbers.
The following measurements are from the top surface of the strut plate to the center of the fork mounting hole, with the fork in the lowest possible position that'll still allow the bolt to go through.

Stock 2010 XK 5.7L Strut: TBD
Bilstein 5100 Strut: 27-7/8"
Old Man Emu Strut: 28"
