Thanks! It wasn't a panel but just switches I found that I really liked. That location is where I've always wanted to put them and I got lucky that they fit so I'm not sure where I would have put them had they not.

    Thumbs up

Just saw this mod done on another Jeep forum (I only frequent it to taunt the lesser Jeep owners ), an tried it on mine today (in-between showers). Pulled the cover off the air intake, so it could finally BREATHE!

Took it for a brief spin on the local highway - couldn't go over 45, so I can't comment yet on how awesome it is, but it seems like a good mod, if you're not driving through deep water!!!

You don't need to drive in deep water. A really good down poor will be enough to suck water into the filter. By eliminating the extra turns the water has to take, you gave it an easier path to the filter. I was in a heavy enough rain storm a few years back (stock setup) that caused mine to do this. The Jeep actually hesitated because it sucked enough rain in. Think about your shop vac, now imagine you had a 4.7L shop vac LOL I use to find mud drops on my filters (stock setup) from splashing threw small puddles.

And its a waste. Reminds me of the guys at the track that would remove their headlight for their runs.... and it'd make no difference other than them looking silly lol.

    Exclamation

I run the oiled filter in my CAI, and I mostly run short hops here in the South Hills (I walk to work, so some days I don't even drive it). 45mph on the main drag for a few miles is about as fast as I get, for about 360 days out of the year. If I suck in enough water to kill it thusly, then it's because the animals are lining up 2 by 2 behind it!
