I have the 4.7 liter and just ordered both heat and ac lines for a 4.7 liter XK without rear heat and ac. Ripped out all the old lines and installed the new ones

I'm a bit puzzled by the heater hoses. The short one has one regular hole and one enlarged hole. The other hose has two regular holes. Could this be right ? Im a bit reluctant to cut out the old hose and risk not getting the new one in. I'm considdering just cutting of the hoses that goes down to the wheel weel and put in a "blind" plug in them . It should do the same as changing the hoses.

Post some pictures of the hoses you have.

Dont put a blind plug, you'll run the risk of it blowing off when the cooling system pressurizes

I have included 4 pictures. The pictures of the short hose is the 979 part. As you can see the hose is the same thinkness, but the hole in one end is enlarged. The longer hose with number 978 is the same in both ends.

I looked at my engine (07 hemi) and those hoses look like they'll work. Did you pull off your engine cover and look where the existing hoses go? They come out of the firewall and go in the rear/top of the engine.

You also shouldn't have to cut any hoses. Just move the clamps and twist/pull to get the existing hoses off without damaging them.

I might try. It just looks like the bends are not logical and a bit strange with the hole noe beeing equal.

I wonder if there are minor differences in the XH.

No, left handed. I will give it a new try on monday. Seems strange that there is a difference in the heating / cooling, but who know ??

Finnaly got it on, was not easy to fit it on behind the engine, but its on now. Se attached pictures.
Do you think a 285/70/17 tire will fit now ? The new tire is a regular general altimax tires, and the old ones are BFG MT in 255/75/17.Click image for larger version.
