I had a reply typed up yesterday but forgot to hit post lol
Sensors can be checked with a voltmeter I think.
A bad sensor acts up usually only at the beginning of driving, the ESP will kick in right when you reach 10 mph our so, then knock/jolt and turn itself off and the Jeep will drive normal.
What you are having sounds like what I had a couple years ago, there is some sort of "ring" inside the hub that can go bad and cause the intermittent ESP kicking on. I forget what its called sorry. It would kick ESP in during hard acceleration
