Matt, you going to throw some marking grease on their to see if it's rubbing the hood? I started one because I didn't feel like stick welding. I was trying to go off memory because my XK is still at the dealer and wasn't smart enough to pull up some pics LOL. I used some pretty thick metal not sure it will clear the gaps.

Mine definitely clears the hood, i purposely have it touching the fender and used some fiber reinforced silicone rubber for the interface.

Although thicker than the steel i'd use if I was making this, Aluminum is nowhere near as stiff. So one thing I decided to add was another self tapper and "clamp" down on the mount which then makes it a nice firm interface at the fender. Also added some silicone just for good measure

Very nice! That was my original vision. The piece I have is a thicker stainless steel that I couldn't bend without a press, and fire from propane probably wouldn't do the job.

    Now get into mass production!!!

That looks good man! I'm using steel so their is no give to it so if it clears it shouldn't rub. I see their are more bends I need to make now. I made the first bend in the press brake but couldn't fit back in to make the second bend so I had to heat it up. When I get my Jeep back I'll try finish it up.

I forgot the first one at home so I made another one LOL I just used Matt's pictures to do it so I don't know if it will fit or not. I was bored and still don't feel like stick welding so I just goofed around with this in class today. I managed to twist it My instructor said he meant to tell me it was slightly crooked but got distracted. So a 5lb hammer and a anvil straightened it out a little bit.
