Very nice! That was my original vision. The piece I have is a thicker stainless steel that I couldn't bend without a press, and fire from propane probably wouldn't do the job.
Now get into mass production!!!

That looks good man! I'm using steel so their is no give to it so if it clears it shouldn't rub. I see their are more bends I need to make now. I made the first bend in the press brake but couldn't fit back in to make the second bend so I had to heat it up. When I get my Jeep back I'll try finish it up.
What happened to your drivers side door?

I forgot the first one at home so I made another one LOL I just used Matt's pictures to do it so I don't know if it will fit or not. I was bored and still don't feel like stick welding so I just goofed around with this in class today. I managed to twist it My instructor said he meant to tell me it was slightly crooked but got distracted. So a 5lb hammer and a anvil straightened it out a little bit.
My comet setup - clinging to the edge of the hood - works fine for my little scanner antenna. I like the rigidity of your setup for a serious CB antenna. I'll be curious to see how it holds up against brush and tree branches though!
I use a QD mount on my CB, so I can more easily pop it off, since most of my travels are around town and I don't use the CB then. Going to Buffalo this weekend though, so I'll be fully deployed. Thing is, most Pittsburgh parking garages discriminate against CB-Americans - my barrel mount still smacks cross-beams in most of them.
