Yes I go hiking there with my son its not to bad there are some good mountain/hills to hike up and plenty of designated trails. Badin lake is huge you can boat around that if you want. Uwharrie river is right there I Would not have a issue driving you up stream and picking you up down stream if ya want. So please come out make all the plans you want there so much to do there beside wheeling.
