Ideally because of the distance being traveled by some, amenities should be on the list as well as enough room for campers and RV's. If the middle will bring more out I'm down but I'm willing to consider any location if it's worth the drive. I also agree that 2012 would be the earliest to pull this off not sure but might have to be 2013. Maybe we can find a place most of us have never been to we would need at least one member thats been there its easier that way.
Actually the badlands has plenty of tough stuff. But at only 800 acres it is probably to small. I've only been there on Saturday but with all the other rigs and atv's out there it gets a little tight. Add in 20 or more rigs all in one group = not fun.

I don't know of anything in Nebraska or Kansas. I'm guessing Colorado, Wyoming, Arkansas or Missouri to be the best bets.

Since we're planning so far ahead why not go big? Can this be a XK-Forum sponsored event featuring guest representatives from sponsored businesses like 4xGuard, etc.? Can we pick a place that will allow us to reserve a private space just for us and maybe go even bigger and rent a stage and put some entertainment on there like a band or DJ? Can we maybe talk to Jeep and have them come out and showcase some promotional material? Seems like we would have enough time to plan something of this scale. I could vouch for finding the entertainment since I'm in the industry as my hobby.

My fear with a "park" is just that, I think there would be so many rigs that we would not have as much FUN as if we had our own space.

For those who have not been to Colorado, I can tell you that is the place to go. I know it is a long drive but if it was a National Event and all the extras of a big event it really would be worth the drive and because some of us run it every year we know most of the trails and can make a much more spectacular event. JMHO!

Once you've wheeled in Colorado you will forever be spoiled and never want to go anywhere else. Well, Utah is just about as cool... For some because of distance it may be a once in a lifetime trip, but well worth the experiences you will have there...

I always thought St.Louis, MO was home of the Corvette...Back in the 60's they had the only assembly plant in the USA..(or so I thought)

I agree I've been out to Colorado a few times and it's beauty is unmatched. Just don't think it's feasible for this event being so far away.

I'm with Sal, I think it needs to be in the middle somewhere to be a fair drive for everyone. To give 'yall some reference, if driving non-stop ( except for gas ) at 75 - 80 mph, it takes 12 hours at least for me just to get to the Mississippi River, be it St. Louis or Memphis. How long is the drive from say Arizona and California to Silverton Co. ? I'm thinking Kansas / Missouri border somewhere. It would be nice if we could all just have a days drive to the site. This would make it so much more affordable as far as gas and possible lodging along the way. I drive non-stop to Tampa all the time which takes around 12 1/2 hours. I dont mind that drive but when you start talking 18 to 20 hours of driving my ass starts to hurt.
