Went to the range today and shot a .38 special, walther ppk .380, and a 44 magnum. I thought i did well with all of them being the first time shooting those weapons. I was shooting at 5 yards because thats in the range of where a perp will be attacking at. I wanted to rent a Springfield XD .45 Compact, but they did'nt have one available to rent. So i just shot the ones my co-worker brought with him. When i shot the 44 mag, everyone from the other lanes came over to see what i was firing, LOL. Thats a beast of a revolver and man what kick it has. Below is a pic of the 44 @ 5 yards, my first time shooting it. It was fun, now im hooked. The shop had a used Berreta M9 for $340, i wish i had the money cause i have always loved the look of that pistol. Oh well, here is that pic....

Yeah im kinda pissed that i had to pass it up, it felt "right" in my hand. They wouldnt put it on hold for me because it is on clearance. If its still there next time i go (probably next pay day), i will buy it. Fingers crossed.
This is not the actual pistol, but this is what it looks like....

Little advice bro stop anticipating the recoil while shooting and control your breathing. Based on were you hit the target those are the two thing you should work on.
That was my issue....if you look at the target, the first shot was way low but in the silouete(sp?). The next two shots were the #8 and the last three i was getting closer in the #9 spot. That gun just made me nervous with the recoil it had, I was thinking about the recoil before I even pulled the trigger...LOL.
Yes I did, but they wanted 1/2 down and would only hold it for 4 weeks.......not enough to get the rest of the money.........kinda broke and priorities (pay back the vacation charges) are holding me back. I'm not worried about it, I'll find another one down the road.

Oh I know bro that was pretty evident on the target. Doing that can cause you to hold your breath as well which can cause you to breath at the wrong time or starve you muscles of oxygen which makes them shaky. Just go over it in your head before and as you're shooting breath in breath out sight alignment squeeze don't anticipate recoil. For long range engagements you can practice pausing at the top or bottom of your breath briefly to get a shot off.
