Hey I had a custom front bumper made from a local fabricator. I dont have many pictures at the moment but here are a few of it held on by clamps and with it off. I'll post more soon now that it is painted and mounted I just need to get some pictures. looks good. that was another route i was looking into as well? only in my case, i was trying to find out/ look at how the commander on jeepinbyal website had the bumper mounted? it looks like they used a smittybilt/ rugged ridge src bumper by cutting the ends off the commanders crush plate and mounting it that way?

Ill post a few pictures soon of how my is connected. It has 8 3/8 bolts hold it on to what I believe you called the crush plate. There are also 2 1/2 inch bolts that connect it to the bottom bar that is U shaped under the bumper (for lack of better description) I have not been able to test it to see if it holds all the weight.

Can you post close up pics of your rack (roof rack. LOL). I am doing something similar with the exception of fittings and I will have an actual rack to modify.
