I have the QD-1 setup, with the 3.7 engine...

Is there anyone else out there with this system that does a lot of offroad? What have you found is 'too much' for your QD-1? Yesterday I found my self in some mud and it seemed to handle just great... I didnt feel any tire spin. I think in the future I will try and stay away from mud. My XK handled the mud better than i did... HAHA I spent 3 hours today taking each wheel off and power washing all the dirt out. Getting small rocks near the rotor produces some scary noises!! I thought the world was ending!

    It's actually QT-I; QuadraTrac.

    QT-I is very capable....

Too much for the 3.7L QT-1 combo will probably be a long day of wheeling where a lot of steep/long climbs are involved. That's a lot of heavy lifting for the 3.7L without a low range in the t-case to take some load off. Some guys have been eying up a t-case swap to give them that capability.

Any idea how much the t-case swap would cost?

From what i've read, they're still working on the details of getting it to work. Don't think anyone has actually done the swap yet...

Dan will probably chime in, i think he's one of the guys that want to do it.

I have QT1 in my WK. It does great everywhere except for long steep hill climbs, like mentioned above.

I figure that a T-case swap would be nice to have down the road, but there are many mods that are higher up on the list...and QT-1 has yet to let me down.

I had no issues with mine at Uwharrie this past Camp Commander, except for the tranny over temp from the long constant uphill pulls (as stated before).

PED must be busy. Him and Knappster can tell you all about the episode on Imogene Pass in 2009. PED had the only 3.7 qt-1 in the bunch. He sold it when he got home and bought a Hemi.
