    High line fenders ona XK/WK. That would be cool...except that it prob isn't possible.

    anything is possible. Im just not sure of the look without the oem fender covering the inner unibody.

    The few XK's I've seen running around with there flares off I think looked better then the stock look with them on but thats me.

    Sure, but what I understand, not only will the flare be off but the entire fender will be off and you will see something similar to this. I hope this is not the case.

    Here is a Commander without fender flares:



    I am going to start here and then bolt custom made flares on using the OEM mounting holes and added support.

    They will not be armored defense, but the stock fenders don't provide much protecting anyway.

    So you are making tube FLARES , not tube FENDERS . Removing the fender would be a bad idea, I think.

    tubed flares was my understanding I knew what he meant in the title with the pic he posted. But ya running without the fender would look goofy. Why can't the flares be mounted for armor protection as well? If land on them your saying they won't hold?

    The "Flares" will bolt to the fenders so if the fenders bends under the impact then the flairs have no other support behind them.

    Cool my project list for my new welder I'm getting this winter is growing every day LOL I might try to see about reinforcing them a little bit if I purchase some.
