Those are fake bead lock wheels. They just take the original Mickey Thompson Classic II wheel and add a fake bead lock ring and call it the Mickey Thompson Classic Lock Wheel. Phunkeydude was running a set of classic II wheels on his Xk but has since sold it for a 4 door JK Wrangler. They fit fine, just stick out quite a bit. You would definately benefit from running a 4 inch lift with those wheels and modification of the inner fenders is still required. You wouldnt need wheel spacers either.

Some of those laws would not apply to after market wheels. They apply to new vehicle sales only. There was a thread on this is "The Other" forum as i recall.

    Here:
AEV Beadlock Wheels are DOT compliant: Doesn't that mean they are street legal?
Not necessarily. AEV wheels are designed to all applicable DOT Standards regarding wheel construction and have passed the SAE Tests for Radial Fatigue, Impact, and Cornering Fatigue. Currently, DOT or SAE has no specific regulation or test requirements for beadlock wheels.

    AEV Beadlock Statement

    From liftlaws.com:
In creating LiftLaws.com we went through the street legal laws of each state and not a single one references beadlocks. In fact, most state's laws don't mention wheels at all and those that do only require that the wheels be safe.

$100 LIFTLAWS.COM BOUNTY- Anyone that provides us with documentation that shows that beadlocks are illegal in any state or sends us a copy of a fix-it ticket they received for their beadlocks will have $100 donated to the BlueRibbon Coalition in their name.

Beadlocks have a couple of flaws, tough to balance, leak, and there is some maitinance that goes along with them. I dont ever go down to single digits in my tires, but I think the Staun Internal Beadlocks would be a great option for the Commander. If it is the look there are a lot of companies that do the Street Lock or Faux Beadlock rings. I like them, and would love to get a set of the Walkwer Evans wheels, but its hard to justify the cost.

I've been running steel Bassett (think dirt track racing) beadlocks on my YJ for a few months. Aside from a couple of light scratches and a small ding in the lock ring they are good. I got them new for $110 each and that included shipping. There are some pictures in the Wrangler, YJ, TJ thread area. Might be limited on a good offset for the Commanders though. Also the 15" limit might not clear the caliper.

Here is the link. Wheels are at the bottom.

Tad bit out of my price range, but I love the way they look.

Hahah same here, thats why I was thinking the Staun Internal Beadlocking system would work great. Holds the tire on the bead, no new wheel needs to be purchased.

still a bit high, but better than stranded. I think I will just stick with the wheels I am currently scratching up, and see whats out there when they can't be cleaned anymore.

Now that looks cool, how good is that system really? Never heard of it or of any one that has used it.
