    Good 70K service?

    Hey guys,

    I am coming up on 70k on my 07 4.7 Flex, and was wondering what a good service would be to do. I will be doing it myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Did you do the 60k service or did you just get it? Any issues?

    If you haven't done plugs in 30k miles, pull them and take a look. Clean the Thottle body by hand with a rag and a bit of brake cleaner. Air filter. Check all your fluid levels and suspension components for play. Check pads and rotors for wear.

    No I did not do a 60k svc. No issues so far. I replaced the rear pads but the fronts were good.i will check the plugs. Cool so just basic tune up stuff? I want to do this because i will be driving from MD to WA in the next couple of months.

    Yeah I don't think anything major should be done before 100k. If you are driving that far I would flush fill tranny, diffs, Transfer case a few weeks before and make sure there are no leaks/issues. Replace serpentine belt if it has any cracks.

    For my 2007, the 60k service is a big one;

    Oil Change
    Front & Rear Diff Fluid
    T-Case Fluid
    Trans Fluid
    Plugs
    PCV Valve

    When was the last time you did a drain&fill or coolant flush? You're coming up on 5 years so it'd be a good idea to get some fresh coolant in there.

    Question

    I bought mine used @ 66k, and am in the midst of the 60k service. Changing to NGK V-power plugs on Tuesday, and the PCV valve (picked one up at the dealer last week). Hoses, belt and anti-freeze appear fine, but school me on thermostats (because if I NEED a flush/new hoses on Tuesday, I'm changing it!).

    I have a Superchips Flashpaq, & I notice you can re-program when the fan kicks in. Combined with say, a 180 degree thermostat, what does that PHYSICALLY do for my little 287 V-8?
