    Happiness Is:

Bailing your son out of jail at 10am on Fathers Day!

He missed a court date for an accident he had. He called the clerk and told her about it and she said to
show up at the next Mayors Court. ( He was at work when he missed the court date)

They issued a warrant for his arrest 2 weeks ago and today they came to the house and got him.
This wasnt a surprise, I knew he missed the date and that he talked to the clerk about what he should do.
Didnt know they would come today and serve the warrant.

The one deputy was really pleasant. I met him before, over the first accident my son had. But the other deputy got pissy when I wouldnt let them in the house. It was an arrest warrant, not a search warrant. So I wouldnt let them in. I wasnt rude or nasty, just told them they could not come in the house.

I didnt want the deputy to be the one to wake him, cuff him take him to jail over a ticket from the accident.

After my son came downstairs he got his stuff together and the friendly deputy came in,
cuffed him and walked him out.

Then the deputy told me what I could do to keep him from going to jail(a bribe?) go to the clerk of courts office and pay the bail ($315).

So that's the extent of my excitement! Hope he learns something from this.

That happen to me once I wrote a check for $25 for a court fine and with out telling me my mom closed our account. So they issued a warrant out for my arrest. Luckily for me I knew a lot of cops and one told me I had a warrant out for me. I just had to turn myself in and got a new court date to pay my $25. Good for you man I would of told that cop to go you know what. I don't care for most cops there are very few I like even most my family that joined a police force I don't like them either. Knappster you seem like a cool dude though your alright in my book.

Some cops are badge heavy (not all of them), but it is good when citizens (like Cico7) know their rights. The police can enter your home with an arrest warrant, but it has to be a felony warrant & they have to know that the subject they seek is in the residence (cannot guess they are there). If the police watch the felon enter the residence, have eyes on all exits and know he/she has not left then they may enter with a arrest warrant, but that is about the only way that warrant works.
