A little post-Ultimate Jeep Summit carnage:
I don't believe that anyone did any damage during the actual UJS but we did this on Thursday afternoon on our way out of our Elephant Hill run. I'm not sure what caused the tie rod to snap as we weren't doing anything out of the ordinary. This happened about 1/4 mile from the trailhead.

Not having the right parts for a trail fix, we left Sherman overnight and returned to Moab for parts. Here is the 'splint' we did on Friday that got us out (and home!).

Don't ask me why I didn't just pull the tie rod and have it welded in Moab. I just wasn't thinking, but at least the 'splint' didn't require putting the boot clamp back on which took me over an hour the last time I had to do it.

I hope to post some more pics soon and maybe a YouTube video of Wipe-Out Hill!

The family and I had another great WCCC/WCUJS. The weather & wheeling was just fantastic and I'm looking forward to Silverton next year.
