Oh yeah, the turn buckles and ring eyes. They prevent up-rolling of the crossbar, and keep things from rattling. On the drive in today, it was quiet, so no movement. The other end of the buckles hook to the baseplate's safety cable eyes.
More photos later when I get the Anderson connector installed.
On edit: If there is anything that sucks about this setup, it's the cotton pickin' wire costs. I'm into the wiring about $255. No wonder thieves are always after copper wire!!! Welding cable is stupid expensive!
Another edit: The pieces of bar stock that go in between the forks is 5/8" thick. The crossbar is 2" x 3" and 3/8" thick - it's about 35 lbs. overall. I didn't use angle iron because the back side is tapered, whereas the L stuff is straight on the back sides. (Normal angle iron is thinner at the back edge)
Now... off to eBay to find a Jeep hitch cover for when the winch isn't there.
