I have a good signwriter as well, he did the logo in full cut vinyl, so there is no backing. But it wasnt easy apparently!

For an easier design, we could just replace the tire tread with horizontal lines. It sounds vague, but check out the maniac4x4 aussie Commanders on their website. The third picture on the page's slide show has a "Team Jeep" sticker in the XK's window with a horizontal line design we could replace the tire tread with.

I think it can be done... the key is putting the decal in during the summer; put it on in the morning and let that baby bake allllll day in the sun before peeling off the backing to make sure all those small sections adhere really well to the window.
I've put some pretty cool skiing decals on that had similar designs with snow splatter and long thin elements (skis/poles).
