OMG inside the Jeep would be aweful. I had a true cold air intake on my explorer, which was inside the fender so it drew actual outside engine compartment air and I couldn't stand it, I put it back inside the engine compartment. Way to loud. I can't imagine inside.

I have an idea for a snorkel but not the time/capability to fabricate it. I wanted to do something similar to the military hummers with a top of the hood mounted bubble... kind of like a shaker hood but off to the side. Has anyone heard of, or set up something along these lines? There has to be aftermarket companies that could give you the basic parts to fab it up.

Looks like you could come up with something pretty sweet from those basics. Getting it mounted and piped to the intake might be a pain in the arse but it'd be cool. I like the idea of using basic styrofoam to mock up the piping and then fiber glassing the heck out of it. Might be time consuming but shouldn't be too incredibly expensive. You always have the option of looking to a turbo kit for piping and elbows...

Hell, I haven't even pulled the Cover of my engine though so maybe this is completely unrealistic?

I've looked into this and making one is not a big deal except people don't want to cut into there commander. For now I just made a CAI to get a little more protection from the water. I'll be putting something together at some point.

I had the CAI and then replaced it with a snorkle which required me to reinstal all the interior air breather componants, now I am considering removing the interior equipment and using a CAI pipe to my modified airbox and then to the snorkel for both more air AND water protection.
