Switching it to the 3.88 gear setting would change the shift points, so it could be accomodating for something that is not there

well switching the gear ratio to change the shift points might be less complicated then actually changing the shift points maybe that's what he attempting to do.
I'm surprised he's not throwing any codes... The engine/trans RPM aren't going to sync up with the ABS sensors at the wheels
I wouldn't know how big of a difference there is between 3:73 and 3:88 is that enough to cause issues?
i guess not... that might be within the realm of expected tire wear. On the same notion, it wouldn't really be enough to drastically change the shift points either.
I'd put the gear setting back to match the actual gears that are in the vehicle. I have an inkling that he's feeling more of a placebo effect than anything else.
I think we've all had these type of moments in the past and probably some more to come in the future as well LOL
Nothing will top the time that i ripped those fuel line clips off my rails and I had the proper disconnect tool sitting there in my driveway.... DOH!
